About me
Lucas Hennessy is a manager at Crowe LLP where he leads the penetration testing services for the financial services industry. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science double major in Cybersecurity and Network Engineering Technology. Having spent two years competing in National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC), Lucas transitioned easily into his penetration testing role at Crowe where he has remained at for over five years. Lucas re-developed the penetration testing methodology from the ground up and has continued to train the next generation of hackers through methodology standardization and clear documentation. He is highly skilled in Active Directory environments and actively contributes to many Python GitHub projects such as Impacket. Lucas has been the primary team member leading purple team style engagements and is the go-to person when it comes to advanced Windows Active Directory or network device questions. He passed his OffSec Certified Professional (OSCP) certificate in 2023 with ease and is now veering his attention to even more advanced assessments such as red teams. Lucas stays up to date on industry cybersecurity trends using Twitter, millions of GitHub notifications, and numerous conferences such as DEF CON and Wild West Hackin’ Fest. Using this information, he is constantly updating and modifying Crowe's methodology to have better success against newer defenses.
